Fillings

When a tooth has a cavity, this is literally a hole in the outside enamel layer of the tooth. This causes the underlying dentin or "inner tooth" to decay over time. The most conservative treatment for small cavities is removal of decayed tooth structure and repair with tooth colored, resin, filling material. This filling material can also be used for cosmetic reasons to shape front teeth to create a more aesthetic smile.
